Information For Authors
Journal Policies
This page outlines the key policies, submission guidelines, and editorial processes for Frontiers of Humanities and Social Sciences, published by Axon Academic Publishing Institute.
Aims and Scope
Frontiers of Humanities and Social Sciences publishes original research and reviews that provide substantial and novel insights into all fields of humanities and social sciences. The journal welcomes interdisciplinary submissions that bridge traditional boundaries and offer fresh perspectives. Submissions with theoretical rigor, methodological soundness, and significant scholarly impact are particularly welcomed.
Open Access
Frontiers of Humanities and Social Sciences is a fully open access journal. All content is freely available without charge to the user or his/her institution. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author.
Copyright and License to Publish
Journal articles are published under the CC BY license. Authors retain the copyright of their work and grant the journal a license to publish. They agree to make their original works completely available and free to use, copy, and/or redistribute in all formats, as long as the authors and the original source are properly cited. A copyright statement is published on all full-text files (HTML, PDF, XML).
Authors are required to sign a License to Publish agreement before the formal publication of an article. This grants Axon Academic Publishing Institute the right to publish the article in Frontiers of Humanities and Social Sciences under the CC BY license.
Peer Review
The journal adopts a single-blind peer review model. In this process, the identities of the reviewers are concealed from the authors, while the authors' identities are known to the reviewers. All accepted articles (except for some invited Editorials) undergo a rigorous and thorough review process to evaluate their scholarly significance, originality, argumentative coherence, and academic integrity.
Article Processing Charge (APC)
To support the high-quality open-access publishing process, Frontiers of Humanities and Social Sciences charges an Article Processing Charge (APC). The first two issues will be published free of charge, and no APC will be applied during this period. After this introductory phase, the standard APC is USD 100 per manuscript (approximately CNY 700). This fee applies only to accepted manuscripts, and authors are not required to pay any other submission or review-related fees.
The journal offers APC waivers or discounts to corresponding authors from low- and lower-middle-income countries, as defined by the World Bank. Additionally, discounts may be offered to authors from our partner institutions, society members, and dedicated reviewers.
Archive
To ensure long-term digital preservation and accessibility, all published articles are permanently archived on the Portico platform. Authors are also encouraged to self-archive the published version of their article in their institutional repositories, disciplinary repositories (e.g., SSRN, arXiv for relevant fields), or on their personal websites.
Preprint Policy
Frontiers of Humanities and Social Sciences encourages the early sharing of research. Authors are permitted to post preprints of their manuscript (the original version, the accepted manuscript, or the published version of record) on non-commercial preprint servers (e.g., SSRN, PsyArXiv), authors' personal websites, or institutional repositories. This does not constitute duplicate publication.
Readers can view our full preprint policy at Sherpa Romeo. For detailed information, please refer to Link to Editorial Policies page.
Manuscript Submission Overview
Types of Publications
Authors must provide comprehensive research details (including methodological procedures, data sources, and analytical frameworks) to ensure the transparency and reproducibility of results. Frontiers of Humanities and Social Sciences requires the disclosure of all research controls (e.g., sampling strategies, validity checks) and mandates the availability of full datasets, survey instruments, or primary source materials whenever feasible (refer to the guidelines on Supplementary Materials and citations of unpublished data).
Manuscripts submitted to Frontiers of Humanities and Social Sciences must be previously unpublished and not under concurrent consideration for publication in any other journal. Below is a summary of core article types.

Manuscripts must include up-to-date, relevant references and adhere to the following structure: Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Materials and Methods (or Research Design and Methodology), Results (or Findings), Discussion, and optional Conclusions.
Review Article
Offers a critical, comprehensive analysis of existing literature in a specific field of humanities or social sciences, identifies research gaps or unresolved issues, and provides constructive recommendations for future studies. No unpublished data may be presented. Recommended structure: Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Thematic Sections, Discussion, Conclusions, and Future Directions.
Scoping Review
A sub-type of Review Article, requiring strict adherence to the PRISMA Extension for Scoping Reviews Checklist. The checklist must be submitted as non-published supplementary material. PRISMA-compliant flow diagrams must be included in the main text. Authors are strongly encouraged to register detailed protocols in a public repository (e.g., Open Science Framework or Inplasy) prior to data extraction.
